Reef Guardian has held several schools outreach programmes at which selected students were given the chance to visit SIMCA and learn about marine conservation. Undergraduate Marine Science students from local tertiary institutions have also been taken in for their practical training conducts, where they are trained and exposed to the conservation works at SIMCA.

Other than the student educational programmes, SIMCA extends its educational outreach through the beach and underwater cleanup programmes at the islands within SIMCA under Project AWARE. In the year of 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2013, Reef Guardian partnered with Lankayan Island Dive Resort (LIDR) to organise Project AWARE and invited participations from foreign tourists, government agencies and local NGOs in effort to raise awareness on the need for healthy and clean environment. An awareness programme with the nearby communities of Kg. Trusan Sugut was also conducted in 2014 to explain on SIMCA benefits to marine sustainability.
