One compressor boat was checked when it was found anchoring and fishing using net. During checking it, about 900g of solid sodium cyanide in the boat. Boat and crews were handed over to police for further action.
11th February
One compressor boat was detained near Lankayan Island at 10.45pm. About 500mL of sodium cyanide solution was found in the boat. Boat and crews were handed over to police for further action.
2011
8th Aug
One compressor boat was detained at the north of Lankayan water and was suspected to carry out sodium cyanide fishing. However, the boat and crews were released after no evidence was found.
25th May
One compressor boat was detained with the assistance from MMEA. About 400g of solid sodium cyanide and 700mL dilute solution were found in the boat.
2010
26th November
One compressor boat was detained at north of Lankayan. However no illegal fishing materials or gears were found in the boat. Captain and owner of the fishing boat were given strict warning.
2nd September
One compressor fishing boat was detained at north of Lankayan Island. This boat was suspected for conducting fish bombing and using sodium cyanide. Boat and crews were handed over to Police Beluran for further action.
2009
14th November
A fishing boat which were manned by Vietnamese deployed a 7km bottom gillnet inside SIMCA at 9.30pm. At least 50 leopard sharks and other species of sharks were found on-board. Boat and crews were handed over to MMEA. However, they were released 2 days later due to insufficient evidence to place charges.
28th February
Three fish bombing boats were detained at 6km north of Lankayan. The boat and crews were handed over to Beluran Police for further action.
2008
14th October
One fish bombing boat was detained at 6km south of Lankayan. Dead bombed fishes and fertilizer for making fish bomb were found in the boat. The boat and crews were detained and prosecuted with the help from MMEA (Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency.
11th April
Six fishermen were caught fishing live fishes with sodium cyanide at Billean Island. The fishermen were handed over to Beluran police for further action.
